In October 2000, at the age of 10, Isaac Aponte (Ike Aponte) moved from the Lower East Side of Manhattan to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Ike’s father taught Ike and his brother DJ the basics about auto mechanics. Auto mechanics began as a family hobby, but Ike later attended Monroe County Career and Technical Institute for Automotive Technology. Ike began mounting, balancing, and changing tires as a career in 2012 at a shop he rented on Henry Street.
In 2015, he created “Ike’s Mobile Tires”, realizing that consumers needed a mobile service that could handle all of a customer’s tire needs on the go. Ike’s goal was to cut the time customers spend waiting for a tow truck in half. In October of 2017, after two years on the road, Ike decided to open a shop in order to help his customers in so many other ways! Not only will he perform roadside assistance anywhere in Monroe County, but now customers can come to his shop located at 110 N Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg for both routine and unexpected automotive maintenance needs.
In 2019, to let his customers know that he’s more than “just a mobile tire guy”, Ike changed his business name to “Ike’s Tire & Auto” and expanded the size of his shop. Come check us out! Walk-ins are welcome – or give us a call at 570-994-8623 to schedule an appointment for service.
